Highly acclaimed freshman rapper drops free single, preps debut album for Early 2016 release
Adding to its robust roster of talented artists, Xist Music announced the signing of Rapzilla Freshman Alum Davis Absolute. Davis Absolute comes locked and loaded, with his debut album more than halfway completed, and set to be among the several 2016 releases from Xist Music artists. The newest member of the Xist team barely lets the ink dry on his deal before dropping a freestyle over J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” beat as a free download to celebrate – on the 1-year anniversary of “Forest Hills Drive” no less.
Xist Music CEO T. Black had this to say about their newest signee: “We signed Davis Absolute to carry the torch of great artistry and a powerful message. We’re excited to support him as an artist!”
Fellow artist and Xist Music President Sean Simmonds expressed his enthusiasm as well: “ He brings a fresh young energy, with well-thought out lyricism and creativity. With his “rising freshman” status, he helps position us for the long-term. The future look extremely bright!”
Davis Absolute, real name Akande Davis, was born to a military family, and fell in love with hip-hop at an early age. Strongly influenced by legendary hip-hop artists like Nas, the Fugees, Saigon, Rakim, Lupe Fiasco, and Kendrick Lamar, you can find traces of those great MC’s in his music. Davis looks to spread his message of positivity and true happiness through his music, aiming to captivate listeners through his lyrics. Venturing outside the realm of material possessions and short-lived pleasures. Davis touches on real topics and meaningful discussion through his music, communicating a message with staying power.
Asked to define himself and his music Davis Absolute has this to say:
“I’m a hip hop artist with a message that’s far from the media’s inaccurate representation of life’s true meaning. Love, Life, Religion and the struggle of trying beat to your circumstances are woven throughout lyrics of a truth that’s heartfelt and absolute. “This is the way hip hop is supposed to be,”
